Selection Guide

Hinged vs. Sliding Doors – The decisive step will be the choice between hinged and sliding doors. The first option is hung on three hinges (2 for non-rebated doors) and offers a wide range of aesthetic and practical solutions. Sliding doors, on the other hand, save space and are ideal for small rooms or walk-in closets.

Hinged Rebated Doors – The traditional design is represented by rebated doors, which slightly protrude from the line of the frame when closed. With this type, the hinges are visible at first glance.

Hinged Non-Rebated Doors – Non-rebated (flush) doors are a stylish and modern choice, ideal for a clean interior. The door does not protrude in front of the frame but fits flush with it, without any overlap. With the use of concealed hinges, they look clean and minimalist.

Double Doors – For larger spaces, often used between the living room and dining room.

Sliding doors are offered in several variants:

• Wall-mounted with Pelmet – This modification is possible for all our interior door models and surface variants except HPL. The pelmet, stop bar, and frame are supplied in the same decor as the door leaf. Soft-close and brush strips are available for an extra charge. Can be fitted with a recessed handle and lock; in this case, a stop bar for mortising the strike plate must also be ordered.
• ALU Wall-Mounted Sliding System – An innovative sliding system that stands out for its minimalist design and perfect execution in every detail. The opening remains without a casing frame and without a threshold. It is equipped with a hidden integrated soft-close and damping system for both directions. The system is used for a rough opening height of 197 cm; the doors have a height of 210 cm. Supplied only in CPL or HPL laminate.
• Wall-mounted with PLANEO Pelmet – A wall-mounted sliding system suitable for finished openings with passage dimensions of 60, 70, 80, 90 / 197 or 210 cm. It includes a pelmet with an integrated track (190 cm), cover strip, side covers, rollers, and a double-sided soft-close. Supplied with standard-sized sliding doors with a guide groove on the bottom edge. The sliding aluminum rail with a 10 mm wall clearance has a stainless steel or black graphite look.
• Pocket Doors – This modification is possible for all our interior door models and surface variants except HPL. The split frame for pocket sliding doors with glazing beads or with an oval WC recessed handle or ENTERO handle is supplied for partitions with a minimum thickness of 12.5 cm. A measurement report and specification of the sliding doors, opening direction, and handles must be provided.

Solid Doors – They dampen noise and ensure privacy. Suitable for bedrooms, offices, and toilets.

Glazed Doors – They let light through and optically enlarge the space. Popular in living rooms and hallways.

Most common types of core materials:

• Honeycomb Core (paper) – Lightweight, economical, suitable for low-traffic areas.
• Tubular Chipboard (DTD) – Higher strength and acoustics, suitable for bedrooms and offices.
• Solid Chipboard – Maximum strength and sound insulation.

Our tip: For rooms where you require peace and quiet, always choose a DTD chipboard core. You will notice the difference immediately—both for your ears and your peace of mind.

Modern doors are manufactured in a wide range of surfaces—each has its advantages:

• CPL laminate – High resistance to scratches and temperature. Excellent price/performance ratio.
• HPL laminate – Extremely durable, used even in hospitals or commercial spaces.
• Lacquered surfaces – Smooth, elegant, suitable for modern interiors, in various qualities and prices.
• Finish foil – An economical variant that meets basic door functionality requirements.

Standard nominal widths for single-leaf rebated doors are 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, and 110; for double-leaf doors, they are 125, 145, 160, 165, 180, and 185. We standardly manufacture doors with a height of 197 cm in the rebate, with a total height of 198.3 cm. Doors with a height of 201.7 and 210 cm in the rebate (total height 203 and 211.3 cm) are manufactured with a 15% surcharge. All other atypical dimensions are subject to a 30% surcharge, which also applies to atypical widths outside those listed above.

Double Door Options

Casing frame (rebated, non-rebated, and fire-rated)

Rough opening = nominal door width + 10 cm and nominal door height + 5 cm (e.g., for a 60/197 door, the rough opening is 70/202 cm).

Jamb (wall thickness) for rebated frames = minimum 7 cm; for non-rebated or fire-rated frames = minimum 10 cm.

Metal Frame Cladding

Rough opening = smallest passage width and height of the metal frame. Note: A measurement report must be sent with the order.

Concealed Non-Rebated Frame

Rough opening = nominal door width + 13.5 cm and nominal door height + 6.5 cm

Concealed Reverse Frame

Rough opening = nominal door width + 16.2 cm and nominal door height + 7.9 cm

If you have already chosen the door and require the frame in the same decor, then for most doors, you only need to specify the jamb size. Only with the classic casing frame do you have the option to choose a more design-oriented butt joint instead of the standard miter joint.

We offer hardware in several different finishes, divided into 2 basic categories—rose and plate hardware.

Rose hardware consists of two parts—a separate handle and a rose covering the lock. Roses are either round or square.

Plate hardware is more conservative. The handle is connected to a backplate that covers both door openings for the handle and the key. The standard spacing between the handle hole and the key hole is 72 mm, but for special doors (e.g., security doors), it can be 90 or 92 mm!

Interior doors address comfort. Special doors address sound attenuation, humidity, security, and the protection of property and lives. They are often used as entrance doors to apartments, for technical rooms, or anywhere where increased requirements are placed on the doors—whether fire, acoustic, or security-related.

Fire-Rated Doors (EW30/EI20, EI30, EI45)

They prevent the spread of fire and smoke for 20–45 minutes. They are mandatory for apartment entrances from a protected escape route (e.g., a common hallway in an apartment building). They are often supplied with fire-certified hardware and a door closer.

Acoustic Doors (and combined fire-acoustic doors)

They protect against noise from the hallway, elevator, or neighboring apartment. We manufacture them with sound attenuation of up to 37 dB. Combined with fire resistance, they are ideal doors for apartment buildings.

Security Doors (RC2, RC3)

They resist burglary attempts for 3–5 minutes depending on the class. Class RC2 is now the minimum standard for entrance doors; RC3 is recommended for ground floors, family houses (as interior doors), or isolated locations.

Climate Doors, Class II

Suitable where there is a difference in temperature or humidity on each side of the door—e.g., entrance to an apartment from an unheated hallway. Special construction prevents deformation and warping.

PLUS Construction

The doors are equipped with a wooden frame instead of the standard MDF frame. Solid wood is stronger and holds screws and hinges better, especially during long-term use. Furthermore, wood lasts for decades. The surcharge applies to doors with DTD chipboard core.

Disabled Access Modification

In addition to the wooden frame, the doors also have a solid DTD chipboard core. The doors are significantly stronger and highly resistant to impact. Additionally, a door closer or grab bar can be easily screwed into them. The surcharge applies to doors with DTD chipboard core.

A skilled craftsman can handle common interior doors. However, for fire-rated, security, or acoustic doors, insist on certified installation. Only then will the doors be fully functional—and, for example, the insurance company will have no reason to refuse a claim.
